20-25 July: "Poets at the Summits" 6 days celebrating the long history of Chamonix-inspired poetry. Discover Chamonix through the imagery of ambassadors for peace and poets like Mary Robert, who will read at the summit of the Aiguille du Midi and other sites.

All summer lifts are now open EXCEPT:
* Brévent (closed for renovation all summer)
NEW: the Bossons chairlift re-opened and is a great starting point for hikes like the 4 hour hike to the historical "La Jonction" and a good place to learn about glaciers.

Summer activities in Chamonix Mont Blanc:
White water sports
There is a multitude of summer activities on offer in Chamonix.
Enroll in a paragliding school or take a tandem flight.
Try the thrill of white water rafting or canyoning.
Chamonix and the neighbouring region are meccas of climbing and mountaineering. On a rainy day, pay a visit to the impressive indoor climbing wall in Les Houches.
There are endless mountain bike trails for all levels.
Prefer something less strenuous? A round of Chamonix golf, or a walk in some of Western Europe's most spectacular scenery. Visit the health centers and try a jacuzzi, sauna or a steam room. Chamonix has an Ice Skating rink and Sports Center with indoor and outdoor swimming pools. For children in Chamonix: pony trekking, the summer toboggan or karting and for the very young... the Panda Club!!!
