Inspired by the Super Bowl, this competition mixes freestyle skiing and snowboarding on the Grands Montets snowpark, transformed for the occasion into a skateboarding bowl. 12 teams of professional riders will face one another, with 2 skiers and 2 snowboarders on each team and one team will be eliminated in each round Itll be quite a show
An off-piste competition open to amateurs & pros, the Grand Raid is a circuit that takes place in different ski areas. Teams of two, men, women or mixed, on ski's or snowboard, race several off piste runs through various conditions (North face, steep slopes, gullies, couloirs & forest.) Simple rules: the fastest team down wins.
Henrys Avalanche Talks are invaluable 1.5hr live audio-visual presentations - recommended to everyone who **ever** rides off-piste, providing reminders of best practice for staying safe, the causes and potential consequences of miscalculated risk-taking, with video evidence. For the third year, the French Monoski Association organises a meeting in Chamonix and this year, monoskiing in Chamonix celebrates its 30th anniversary (Pierre Poncet en 1978). 12th: Test gear available free of charge at the Grands Montets & films at the Rencard. 13th: Brevent/Flegere a.m. and the Aiguille p.m.
International, friendly tournament of women's ice hockey.
The Ida Chappot Trophy was so named in memory of the captain of the Edelweiss team. This formation was the first team to unite female hockey players in Chamonix and indeed in France between 1934 and 1936.
This 2nd annual race challenges participants with 1300 m of vertical up and 1700 m down, over close to 10 km of distance (weather permitting).
09:00am: Race starts at the summit of the Cornu chairlift
After 11:00a.m.: first competitors will start to arrive at the Finish in Flégère.

Victims of global warming, the glaciers are suffering. While the ice shelf is melting at high speed, the glaciers in the Alps are receding.
From Greenland to the Himalayas and from the Andes to the Antarctic, these glaciers seem to be doomed.
Guy Martin-Ravel exhbibits with "Fragile" his most recent collection of photographs.
Guy Martin-Ravel retraces the life of a mountain guide who has left the mountains for other horizons! This exhibition is his own autobiographical photo collection. Through the lense of his camera, during a number of humanitarian missions, he bears witness to the fragility of man's condition.
An exhibition of watercolours by the Moscovite artist, Guennady Pylaev, dedicated to the Mont-Blanc massive.
The artist came to Chamonix for the first time in 1993. He defines his work as "the art of contemplation."
Pylaev's watercolours are very characteristic, associating the elegance of 19th century artists with the enthusiasm of the 21st century.
ChaChaCha will host a wine tasting every
evening at 6pm and 7:30pm with a new theme every night, 15 per person). The tasting will be followed by an informal discussion which is geared towards the audience, with as little or as much detail as required. The tastings can be done in English or French.
Half poetry, half realism, Takeo Adachi's work is characterized by an omnipresent motif, stone, which he perceives as a mysterious, concentrated force. Focusing particularly on pebbles arranged in a line or a circle, Adachi draws them in minute detail with a pencil, from a very low angle. In his latest series Adachi adds rope - a Japanese symbol of life and purity.
One autumn, while resting after a busy guiding season, I was drawn by the idea of putting some of my experiences on paper, to immortalise some of those amazing moments and to attempt to show others the splendour of the mountains, an artist's impression rather than photographer's or a writer's. Water colours, acrylics and colours have been my travelling companions in my mountain adventures.
The Espace Tairraz presents an exhibition about the minerals and crystals of the Mont-Blanc region.
