A museum like no other and for the whole family!
The "Centre de Nature Montagnarde", CNM (Mountain Nature Center) you'll discover natural alpine heritage in all its forms, in Sallanches the City of "Pays du Mont-Blanc" near Chamonix. A unique place for the whole family!

The CNM is an interpretive center on 5 levels and 600 m2 of exhibitions. A museum that is both fun and interactive, where everyone is an actor of his visit. A multitude of tools is made available to visitors to help them in their discoveries. There are of course labels, but also games, multimedia kiosks, CD-ROMs, "Odorama", touch screens, short films, films in computer graphics ... to travel in the Alps, between fauna, flora, geology, Glaciers and sustainable development. Here, all senses are awakened to the delight of young and adults alike.

The visit will enable to understand the formation of the Alps, you look at the great ice ages in the past, to see that the Chamonix valley was once covered by an immense glacier, that Sallanches was buried under 1,500 meters of ice! The visit also allows you to experience the "inhabitants" of the castle. Many stuffed animals, emblematic of the Alps await you and are presented.
In particular, wolf, bear, lynx and a bearded vulture which we never get tired of admiring. Finally, you learn the environment of altitude and the issues of sustainable mountain development. The plus of the place: a documentation center and a shop with a wide choice of posters, postcards, games, books, etc..
