Lift: The Aiguille du Midi lift.
Timing: All day long. Prohibited in July-August.

Tips for take-off: The take-off is only accessible by walking down the Aiguille du Midi ridge, which requires mountaineering experience and usually requires mountaineering equipment (e.g. crampons and rope). Beware of the reduced lift due to the altitude. Good technique and handling of the paraglider is essential.

Directions: Take the Aigulle du Midi cable car from Chamonix to the top station. After walking down the narrow ridge the take-offs are south and north facing on the glacier.

Restrictions: The Vallée Blanche (South Take-off) Flight Details.

An immense flight which starts with a glide above the glaciers, brushing past needle-like peaks, flying out over the Montenvers train station and into the valley of Chamonix, where you can then head for the thermals or land.

The Aiguille du Midi North Face

The North Face (North Take-off) Flight Details.

The North Face of the Aiguille du Midi is one of the most impressive and steep faces in the valley. It is a committing launch, resulting in 2,600m of altitude above the valley floor. Launching here requires very good technique. There are no second chances if you fall here. It's a long way down - 800m to the mid station.

Launching so high up means the flying possibilities are immense. Either a quiet glide over Chamonix for 35mins or pass by Les Aiguilles de Chamonix heading in the direction of Les Drus or take a high transition to Le Brevent where anytime before late pm it is worth heading for the Brevent thermals.
