Lift closings (Apr 17 2008)
The French Alps still have lots of snow, but how much longer are the lifts going to be open? Here's the timeline of when the lifts close for the season 2007-2008 in the Chamonix region so you can benefit from all the snow:
Already closed = Portes du Soleil - Morzine & Super Chatel sector.
Evasion Mont Blanc - everything in Megève except for La Cote 2000.
April 18th =
Chamonix Valley - Les Houches.
Evasion Mont Blanc - St. Gervais.
April 20th =
Portes du Soleil - Chatel's Linga Les Combes & liason with Avoriaz; Grand Massif - Les Gets, Les Carroz, Samoëns, Morillon, Sommand & partial closing of Flaine.
La Clusaz - everything except the Balme sector.
Evasion Mont Blanc - Les Contamine/Hauteluce.
April 21st =
Le Grand Massif - partial closing of Le Grand Bornand, partial closing of Les Praz-de-Lys.
April 25th =
Le Grand Massif - rest of Le Grand-Bornand, rest of Praz-de-Lys.
April 27th =
Chamonix Valley - Brévent, partial closing of Flegere & Le Tour/Vallorcine.
Portes du Soleil - Avoriaz & the rest of Chatel.
Le Grand Massif - rest of Flaine;
La Clusaz - the rest;
Evasion Mont Blanc - rest of Megève.
Courmayeur (depending on snow conditions)
May 4th = Chamonix Valley - rest of Flégère.
May 11th = Chamonix Valley - Grands Montets.
May 18th = Funivie Monte Bianco (Italian side of the Valley Blanche)
Remains open longer =
Chamonix Valley - Aiguille du Midi & Le Panoramique.
