Mar 30 2009 - Mortal Car Accident in Les Tines

It was around 21h55 when the rescue workers got the call. A pedestrian was hit on the side of the road in Les Tines.
Les Tines is a small hameau between Chamonix and Argentiere. Soon after the alert call was made, the ambulance and firemen were on the scene. It was pretty horrific.

The victim was walking along the side of the road and hit by a passing vehicle. Before the vehicle could stop and alert traffic, the victim was hit a second time by another vehicle.

The firemen pronounced the young man dead on arriving to the scene and could not identify him as he was carrying no papers.

Witnesses say the victim was walking in an area not lit by street lamps when the accident happened. The police are investigating this case further.
