Hotel Mont Blanc to sell
With this crisis, the group Best Mont Blanc (that owns 4 hotels in Chamonix) is changing their business plans for the next year. They are selling the 4 start hotel Mont Blanc, the must luxury of their group.
So the Hotel Mont Blanc is to sell to the best offer. Another example of crisis is that the Hotel Prieure was closed for one month.
In terms of staff, only two persons are being sacked, on the technical department. Also to highlight the retirement of Bernard Magnin, director of th erestaurants and Jean Charles Gauthey, 'maitre' of the hotel Mon Blanc.
New Refuge du Gouter
The construction of the new Gouter hut, on the normal route of the Mont Blanc, is on hold.
For Jean Marc Peillex, mayor of Saint Gervais, this is embarassing as astonishing. The city hall of St. Gervais made everything it could. The CAF has the authorization to build the new hut and we gave them 10% of the budget, 6 millions euros.
The city hall doesn't understand the silence of the CAF and the architect... "they must have problems in finding the remaining money to go ahead with the project"
