« Ce sont souvent des accidents vraiment graves sur lesquels nous intervenons. Et ça, c'est un véritable problème. Beaucoup de jeunes en sont les victimes et souvent de très jeunes skieurs. »
Et contrairement aux idées reçues, ce ne sont pas les big air qui génèrent les accidents les plus graves. « Nous constatons, au contraire, que c'est sur les petits sauts que les blessures les plus importantes surviennent. Les jeunes tentent des figures périlleuses trop près du sol, croyant prendre moins de risques en décollant moins haut... »
Devant ces constats, le "patron" du PGHM chamoniard espère dans un premier temps un travail sur les agrès proposés à la clientèle, rappelant que « ces installations ne sont pas naturelles. Elles sont créées dans un but clairement commercial. Or, il ne me paraît pas tout à fait normal qu'un tel équipement ne soit pas plus encadré, plus régulé, moins accidentogène. »
Suite aux trois accidents graves en une seule journée sur les snowparks des Grands-Montets et des Houches (voir ci-contre), le commandant Lavergne a demandé au directeur de la Sécurité civile à la préfecture, Laurent Lenoble, qu'une réflexion en ce sens soit engagée au plus haut niveau du département.
« Je pense qu'il faudra en passer par là, pour faire un état des lieux et redresser la barre au niveau des types de modules proposés sur les snowparks et de qui peut aller sur quel module, »
Malgré nos demandes répétées, les services de la préfecture de Haute-Savoie (en particulier la direction de la Sécurité civile) n'ont jamais répondu à nos questions sur le sujet des snowparks.
