In Chamonix we can enjoy the snow and the slopes well groomed till the end of the season... this means till the May 10th.
And that's what we decided to do this morning... in the Grands Montets.
The resort wasn't that empty as we thought. We had to wait 15 minutes to go up to Lognan.
All the lifts are open, the Marmottons, la Herse, the Bochard cabine and top of the Grands Montets too.
Only the Grands Montets cable car had a queue, all the other were quite fast to go in.
The good thing of the end of season ski is the fact that all the slopes are well groomed and all there for you to enjoy.
Of course that the quality of the snow is not like in January, but if you wake up really early, you still can have a good time.
The snow changes a lot during the day... hard and good in the morning to heavy and slushy in the afternoon.
But we had a great morning... lots of sun. We started by skiing in the Herse and Bochard. Then we decided to head for the top of the Grands Montets.
It wasn't fresh powder for sure, but because the slopes are wide and there aren't as many people as in season, the ski is very pleasant!!!
Tomorrow, 10th May, is the last ski day in Chamonix.

PS: don't forget that the Aiguille du Midi lift will stay open almost all the spring.
