Wildlife Photography Exhibition
Wildlife Photography Exhibition at the Maison d'Argentière
From 1st to 30 April 2017, come to visit the Wildlife Photography Exhibition: "Le Pic tridactyle", The emblem of the Chamonix biodiversity at the Maison d'Argentière.
First observation of reproduction and research of new territories.
A bird of Haute-Savoie could be the emblem of the old Alpine forests. It is unknown to the general public, unloved by the forester, but its role is essential in the forest ecosystem. The Tridactyle Woodpecker is present only in a handful of valleys, its numbers are estimated between 10 and 50 pairs in the Northern Alps. The Chamonix valley is probably home to the largest known population in France, but the data are lacking.
Passionate of this bird, the naturalist photographer Fabien Stocco decided to take up a challenge, to find new territories (6 new for 6 already known) and to multiply the observations until discovering the first breeding observed in Haute-Savoie.
An exhibition proposed and supported by Image Time, educational structure of the look and SHOOT festival of photography of author. (Imagetime.org)
