From Thursday, the 4th until Sunday, the 7th of July, mountain enthusiasts from all over the world came to Chamonix.
Precisely, over 450 mountaineers from 30 countries were present in Chamonix for the 8th edition of the Arc'teryx alpine academy.
The Arc'teryx Alpine Academy is a unique platform where both beginners and experts can learn from high mountain guides and professional sportsmen. In fact, the 2019 edition of the Arc'teryx Alpine Academy brought 120 high mountain guides and 30 professional athletes.
Sports personalities such as Nina Caprez (climber), Will Gadd (ice climber) and Ines Papert (Mountaineer, ice climber), Adam Campbell (ultra-trail) and skiers Thibaud Duchosal and Stian Hagen participated in the 8th edition of the Arc'teryx Alpine Academy.
The goal was to learn and the weather was favourable, even too hot, some might say.
70 different enlightening and interesting workshops were held over four sunny days. The workshops were on mountaineering, climbing, ice climbing, block, hiking, trail running, ski mountaineering, photography and mountain safety.
Moreover, there were also workshops on glaciology and permafrost, the impact of global warming on fauna and flora and the preservation of the mountain environment.
As usual, big screen movies and live concerts lit up the atmosphere at the Arc'teryx alpine academy and the 8th edition was a complete success, just like the other 7 previous editions.
