After many months of hard work & a great investment, the new La Flégère gondola has finally opened on 14 December 2019.
And despite the unfavourable weather, the new La Flégère gondola had a good start and the first skiers who tried it were satisfied.
It has been a long way since April 2018, when a public meeting took place in Les Praz to present the ambitious project of replacement of the old Flégère cable car with a gondola.
The new gondola was designed with the purpose of both satisfying the high demand and providing customers with more comfort.
Indeed, the new gondola offers 10 seats and a flow of around 2,000 people per hour at a speed of 6 meters per second.
And the assiduous works began in April 2019, when the ski season ended and the already historic Flégère cable car saw its last day.
After many months of hard work, the La Flégère gondola had finally opened!
And while the weather was not favourable - it rained in Chamonix on 14 December 2019, the first skiers were able to embark in the brand new gondolas at 9.30 am.
And the new gondola offers everything you could wish for: breathtaking views, comfort, speed, the silence of the infrastructure and, as the guests had already noticed, the total absence of queues!
