Christmas holiday was great and the rest of the season appears to be the same

With school holidays being over, children returing to school and adults back to work, Nicolas Durochat, tourism director of the Chamonix Valley, concludes that "we had a great holiday".

"The attractiveness of the valley is growing every year", states Nicolas Durochat. The attractiveness of the valley is based on the three key elements: events, promotion and improvement of the offer, and the events were favourable with the big customers on vacation at the same time: Great Britain, Belgium, Scandinavia, and then the Spaniards".

In addition, what makes the valley even more appealing is the fact that Chamonix is at crossroads, with two borders - Switzerland and Italy, which makes these two countries, alongside with Great Britain, to regard Chamonix as their second home.

However, with the Christmas holidays being over, it begs the question: Is the valley still going to be exciting for the rest of the season? Nicolas Durochat says that the rest of the holidays "look good for now".

Chamonix will remain for the rest of the winter a thrilling ski experience, alongside with snowboarding and, for the daredevils out there, there is always speed riding.

Moreover, Chamonix is always filled with cultural events, with many local artists who gain inspiration from the enchanting landscapes.

And, as the beauty of the place is mesmerizing, do not forget to include sightseeing during your time in Chamonix.
