On Arrival at Geneva Airport

The Journey from Geneva Airport to Saint-Gervais

When travelling to Saint-Gervais, passengers might be dropped off in other resorts before you. This tends to happen more when demand is low. Each drop-off does cause a delay, and if you are the last person in the vehicle to be delivered to your accommodation, or other chosen destination in the resort, there might have been a delay of 15-20 minutes, in a worst-case scenario. However, since the demand for big resorts such as Saint-Gervais is usually high, there is a good chance that you will share the vehicle with people who travel to Saint-Gervais themselves.

The Journey from Saint-Gervais to Geneva Airport

The transfer company will always notify you of the pick-up time from your accommodation or other agreed location in the resort. Be in that place at the appointed time. If you are not there, the driver will not wait, as to do so, other passengers might be compromised by your no-show.

As the pick-ups in Saint-Gervais are usually close to one another, you will soon leave the resort and head to Geneva Airport. Along the way, the driver might stop in other resorts to pick-up other passengers, but the highest delay usually happens in Saint-Gervais, with other passengers being picked-up after you.

About Saint-Gervais

Sain-Gervais-Les-Bains is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. The town has been a popular ski resort since the early 1900s.

Saint-Gervais commune contains several villages and the summit of Mont-Blanc. Therefore, Saint-Gervais varies a lot in altitudes, ranging from Le Fayet village at 570m (1,870 ft) up to the Mont-Blanc massif at 4810 m (15,780 ft). The villages are centred around the main town of the commune, which is called Saint-Gervais and it is located at 900m (2,952 ft) altitude.

With 450 km (230 mi) of ski slopes, Saint-Gervais is the third-largest ski domains in France. Regardless, Saint-Gervais is one of the least crammed ski domains of its size, making it ideal for everyone who wishes to enjoy everything that a large ski resort has to offer, while also avoiding crowds.

The main reason why Saint-Gervais manages to avoid the heavy congestion that other popular ski resorts struggle with is that most chalets are independent “owner-run”, so the big tourism companies did not expand that much in Saint-Gervais.

Besides being a vast ski area, Saint-Gervais is well-known for other attractions as well, such as historic buildings, thermal baths or majestic landscapes. As a result, Saint-Gervais is visited all year round, unlike other ski resorts, which are popular only during ski season.

Skiing in Saint-Gervais

Saint-Gervais is part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which contains a total of 44 green slopes, 63 blue, 82 red and 34 black. With the Evasion Mont-Blanc lift pass, you will have access to 445 km or 270 miles of slopes of different difficulty levels.

Le Bettex is an excellent learner’s ski area which also provides good green and blue runs to progress on after you’ve learned the basics.

If you are at an intermediate level, Saint-Gervais might be the resort for you, as it boasts of kilometres of good intermediate terrain above the town, on Mont d’Arbois and Mont Joly.

Saint-Gervais does not have many pistes for advanced skiers, so the domain is usually sought for the untouched off-piste powder. However, the short but steep black pistes on Côte 2000 and l’Èpaule will definitely challenge any advanced skier.
