SNOOC in Chamonix

Snooc is a French invention that allows one to experience the pleasure of a discovery hike in the mountains through a fun and comfortable ride down, go-kart style.

A new gliding machine, the Snooc is ideal for practising skiing uphill and downhill, without necessarily being an expert skier.

In Chamonix, you can try Snooc at the Planards Ski Area.

About SNOOC

 A descent is enough to take it in hand. Sitting at ground level, it stabilizes with the feet. Then you just have to turn your shoulders to direct yourself.

The Snooc is a 2-in-1 hiking and skiing equipment, very light and easy to handle. You go up on short skis and assemble them to go down sitting on one. Super easy and fun to manoeuvre, the Snooc can be enjoyed by anyone from day one!

There are two models of SNOOC:

  • the downhill model, very practical in ski resorts using ski lifts;
  • the touring model, totally hybrid, it is disassembled to turn into ski touring, to practice on the trails or off-piste.

The Snooc is sold with the following parts:

  • 1 pair of skis

  • 1 seat

  • 1 foot

  • 1 carbon shock

  • 1 pair of bindings with straps

  • 1 pair of synthetic skins

  • 2 quick-release screws.

Equipment needed

Besides being easy to learn, regardless of one's ski experience & level, the Snooc presents another great advantage: it does not require many pieces of equipment.

The equipment needed:

  • Ski clothing;
  • High, flexible shoes (snowboard or mountaineering shoes are too stiff) that are warm and waterproof for use in the snow.
  •  Gaiters will be particularly appreciated.
  •  Padded, waterproof and resistant mit.

Everything related to the SNOOC can be found in the SNOOC MANUAL or on www.snooc.ski.
