Tennis and Squash in Chamonix
The word tennis actually comes from the French word tenez meaning to hold or to keep. Early French players were known to start a game by yelling "tenez!" The English soon morphed this into tennis.

There are two Tennis and Squash centres in the Chamonix valley: Chamonix and Argentiere.

If you leave Argentière and take the road to Chamonix after about 1km the Tennis des Îles is on the right with plenty of parking.
