Lift: Flegere lift station - Flegere to midstation Index chairlift.
Timing: from 8a.m. to the end of the morning. Not in winter.
This site has been created to replace the Planpraz site, which is closed for the summer 2008 due to lift renovations. You can take off from the midstation or at the site 5 min walk from the top of the Index.
Tips for take-off:
Watch out for the chairlift cables to the right of take-off.
Directions:
Take the cablecar from Les Praz/Flégère to the mid station. Then take the Index chairlift. Then it's a 5min walk to the old lift site. South facing launch under the cable car lines which can look threatening but are easily avoided.
Flight Details:
West and North winds can cause turbulent conditions. Since the landing area is upwind, beware of strong winds.
It is also possible to launch from the Flégère midstation, which is a good alternative if the top of the index is in the clouds.Header...
