Chamonix Valley Public Transport: How to get about in the Chamonix Valley
The Chamonix valley offers several alternatives to the car: once in Chamonix, public transport is Free so long as a Carte d'Hote is carried for all journeys.

Mont Blanc Express Train (Chamonix Train inside the Chamonix Valley)
This line serves all the villages from Saint Gervais-Le Fayet to Martigny (Switzerland), passing through Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière and Vallorcine. One train approximately every hour.
The train from Servoz to Vallorcine is free for holders of the "Carte d’Hôte" pass (FREE Guest Card), which is given to you on your arrival by your accommodation provider.
** Until the 8 Dec 2012 the Mont Blanc Express has a reduced service between Chamonix and the Swiss Border at Chatelard. Please check the timetable for the scheduled trains and replacement buses (marked in red).
Chamonix Bus
This is the normal urban transport service and it serves all the Chamonix Valley and its ski resorts/areas. It's a free service from Servoz to Le Tour for holders of the Carte d’Hôte pass (FREE Guest Card) or the Chamonix ski-lift pass.
The Minibus "The Mulet"
These free mini-buses are available only in the center of Chamonix town. They make getting around the centre of Chamonix easy. Departures every 10 minutes in high season.
Carte d'Hôte / FREE Guest Card
This FREE Guest Card has many advantages, including free travel on the Chamonix Valley buses and on SNCF trains, as well as discounted rates for admission to public sports and arts facilities and events.
The FREE Guest Card is given to you free of charge by your accommodation provider on your arrival. Do not hesitate and ask for it.
Another way to get this FREE Guest Car: go to Chamonix town hall or the Chamonix Tourist Office, price is 2 euros per person for every week of stay.
