Milan - Chamonix by Train: the Route

The rail route heads north out of Milan, passes along the Domodossola Valley and through the Simplon Tunnel into Switzerland. Change at Brig and take the train to Martigny, traveling west along the Rhone Valley. Alight at Martigny and take the Mont Blanc Express over the mountains to Chamonix.

Mont Blanc Express

The Mont Blanc Express is a mountain train service that runs between Martigny, in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, and Le Fayet (Municipality of Saint Gervais) in the Haute-Savoie of France.

The train passes along the west side of the Mont Blanc Massif and takes the traveler on a spectacular journey with many interesting points to stop and explore.
