HOW TO RECEIVE A GUEST CARD

If your accommodation provider is registered with the authorities, the host will provide you with a card. Don't expect them to offer it. You might have to ask. Do not pay for it. A 'carte d'hôte' is free when provided by a host.

Some accommodation is not registered with the authorities. Typically foreign owned apartments. You might have no personal contact with your host and if you ask for a Guest Card or 'carte d'hôte' it's possible that they don't know what you are talking about.

Never mind, you can get one from the Tourist Office

Until further notice, the Tourist Office is the only place to buy a Guest Card.

These guest cards are not free but the cost is low, €4 for 2 days, €9 for a week,  with other prices for 3-6 day cards.
