    Chamonix is famous for its lifts which bring you right up to the glaciers. There was even talk of continuing the Tramway du Mont Blanc to go all the way up to the Mont Blanc summit!

    The Compagnie du Mont Blanc (CMB) runs the majority of the lifts in the Chamonix Valley.
  • Aiguille du Midi

    A must see sightseeing vantage point, 360º view including the Mont Blanc and it's mountain range, the Aiguilles Rouges natural reserve, and on most days, the Mont Rose in Switzerland and the Grand Capucin in Italy, to name a few. This is also the starting point from some of the classic mountainieering routes in Chamonix, like the Arete des Cosmiques, the Chere Goulote and the Mont Blanc by the three cols.
  • Montenvers

    The Train du Montenvers and the "Mer de Glace" glacier is one of the most important touristic attractions of Chamonix. Once you arrive at Montenvers you can also visit the Ice cave, an exibition on the crystal exploration in Chamonix and enjoy the wonderful views like the Drus and the Grandes Jorasses.
  • Tramway du Mont Blanc

    The Tramway du Mont Blanc brings you to the Nid Aigle at the top of Les Houches resort, where you can enjoy a few nice walks with glacier views and where you will find  the starting point for the Mont Blanc via the Gouter route.
  • Balme: Le Tour and Valorcine

    Le Tour and Valorcine areas are connected with pedestrian trails and new this year marked and exclusive mountain bike trails. Mountain bikers of all levels will find trails adapted to each ones skills and tastes. This will be the first of the Chamonix resorts to be equipped for mountain bikers, the others will follow shortly.
  • Brevent and Flégère

    The Brévent area is accessed from Chamonix town and Flégère is accessed from Les Praz de Chamonix, there is no lift connection during the summer, but you can find different paths that take you from one side to the other, and visit site like the Lac Blanc, just 3 hours walk from Index.
  • Grand Montets

    In the Grand Montets you will find a diverse choice of small hikes and mountain bike trails from the Lognan area and the departure to some of the most mythical climbs in the Chamonix valley, like the Aiguille Verte and a beginners classic the Petite Aiguille Verte.
  • Les Houches summer resort offers

    Les Houches offers two cable cars and a multitude of walks and mountain bike trails for all tastes. From one side you have the Bellevue cabine which is in the center of town.

    At the end of Les Houches village, you'll find the second cable car, in Le Prarion, that takes you up to the opposite side of the resort, this cabin is included in the Mont Blanc Multipass or you can buy a day ticket once you are there. See

  • Chamonix Lift Prices & Reservations

    You can enjoy all the lifts in Chamonix with only one pass, you can do a one day marathon through all the sightseeing spots or enjoy a full week in the different resorts at very interesting rates. See more details here.


    Wether you want to ride downhill all day or Paraglid from more than one spot in the same day, you'll find rates from 20€ per day to 80€ for a full week, in the specified resorts.

  • Which lift to choose?

    Each lift takes you to fantastic heights (quite literally) but certain are more suited than others to certain activities. L'Aiguille du Midi, the Montenvers train, the Grands Montets end the Tramway du Mont Blanc all give access to the Mont Blanc Massif. Flégère and Brévent are on the Aiguilles Rouges side of the Valley. Here's a quick summary by activity:
