Planards Ski Area in Winter : Luge Alpine Coaster in Pays du Mont-Blanc !
An area open year round: a ski area in winter, an amusement adventure park in summer, and an Alpine Coaster sledge and restaurant open all year long. The place to share good time with a group of friends and your family.
Children and adults, come and experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding on the ski slopes, but also our sledge Alpine Coaster all year round.
Easy access, located near the town centre of Chamonix, the Planards Area can be reached by regular Bus lines (in Winter, Bus line 14), a large parking with 130 space is also available at the foot of the slopes. All facilities available on the area: rental gear at Sport 2000 shop, booking ski or snowboard lessons at the ski school office (ESF) and restaurant for lunch or snacking all day long.
In winter, weather permitting, some of the park's smaller attractions remain open. This provides entertainment until the full opening of the amusement park in spring, with its slides, trampolines, looping rides, splash boat, giant swing...
But also games for little children: a carousel, electric motorcycles, mini karting, mechanical diggers ...
Attractions operate with one or two tokens purchased at the cash desk, independently and under the supervision of parents and park staff.
Even more convenient, you only pay for the attractions you want!
Opening Dates for 2025/2026
Luge Alpine Coaster
- Open from December 13, 2025 to May 3, 2026: Every day from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, no reservation required.
- Night Sledding: Extended opening hours until 7:00 PM on certain Mondays and Wednesdays during school holidays.
- Christmas Holidays: December 22 and 29 & January 2, 2026
- Winter Holidays: February 16, 18, 23, 25 and March 2 and 4, 2026
Warning! The opening of the luge on rails is subject to good weather conditions.
The Planards Ski Area
- Ski area opening on December 13, 2025 (*Subject to snow conditions)
- From December 13, 2025 to February 6, 2026: Daily from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
- From February 7 to mid-April* 2026: Daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Night Skiing: On certain Mondays and Wednesdays during school holidays, the ski lifts will be open until 7:00 pm
- Christmas Holidays: December 22 and 29 & January 2, 2026
- Winter Holidays: February 16, 18, 23, 25 and March 2 and 4, 2026
Restaurant / Bar / Snack
- Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

* Alpine Coaster Luge information : The tickets bought online are to be picked up only at the Domaine des Planards' cash desk or at the automatic machine at the start of the luge . We do not sent any tickets by post.
1 ride / 6 rides / 10 rides : all Alpine Coaster Luge passes purchased online, are valid 1 year from the date of purchase.
There is also possibility to buy 2,3 or 4 luge rides by multiplying the number of single luge rides by the number of rides you desire.

Extra Information on the Planards Ski Area :
A perfect area for beginners who want to learn the joys of skiing or snowboarding. Two easy ski lifts serve green slopes. Then the four-seater ski lift transports the skiers progressing to 1.249m altitude, starting from a long blue track and a red track.

The Chamonix Alpine Coaster Luge opened in 2011 to replace the former summer toboggan, is a fun attraction for the whole family.
A 1.3 km rail track with twists, 540 ° spins, turns and thrills.

Located on the edge of the Chamonix town, this unique activity in the region is open year-round! (Annual closing after the All Saints' Day half-term holidays until mid-December).
