Easy access from Chamonix
The Les Marécottes ski resort is easily accessible by car from Chamonix via the Col des Montets and the Col de la Forclaz (1 hour 10 minutes). It is also accessible by train via the Mont-Blanc Express towards Vallorcine, stopping at Les Marécottes.

Or climb the Col de la Golettaz (8,100 ft) (T3) with a reward: breathtaking views of the Dents du Midi throughout the descent to Lake Salanfe. The Marécottes Alpine Zoo
The zoo invites you on a journey to the heart of Alpine wildlife. Located in a larch forest at an altitude of 1,110 meters, this unique zoo, the highest in Europe, presents local species in a preserved setting, where children and adults can observe wolves, ibex, lynx, marmots, and many other iconic Alpine animals up close.
Rock-carved pool
Next to the zoo, dive into the Marécottes natural pool, a jewel of crystal-clear water in the heart of nature. Seventy meters long and carved into the rock, this unique pool combines remarkable architecture and a poetic setting. Thanks to its solar heating, the water is pleasantly warmed between 24 and 27°C in summer, offering an invigorating and unforgettable swim.
A Bucolic and Panoramic Train
The Mont-Blanc Express is a scenic railway line connecting Switzerland to France, between Martigny and Chamonix. Its stop at Les Marécottes station provides access to the cable car, the zoo, and the Les Marécottes swimming pool.
This train offers an authentic and comfortable way to discover spectacular Alpine landscapes, passing through picturesque villages, verdant valleys, and impressive mountain ranges. A must-see ride to immerse yourself in the region's natural beauty.
