After more than two years of renovation, the Crystal Museum is once again open to the public!

It exhibits the mineralogy collections of the Alpine Museum and the Mineralogy Club of Chamonix, Mont-Blanc and the Northern Alps, i.e. nearly 1900 pieces!

The Crystal Museum offers you a journey through the mineralogy of the world.

Redesigned in 2021, the Crystal Museum presents a renewed scenography, dedicated to Alpine mineralogy, from France, Europe and now from around the world! Come and discover collections that are exceptional in terms of their quality, diversity and beauty.

The exhibition begins along the Alps with exceptional pieces from the Alps (France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria) and more particularly from the Mont-Blanc massif. It offers one of the finest ensembles of pink-red fluorites, smoky quartz, axinites, siderites, epidotes... of international renown.

The exhibition continues around the world, starting from French mines and quarries, it takes you to discover the most emblematic pieces from the five continents: azurites from Chessy-les-Mines, aquamarines from Pakistan, Peruvian pyrites, Congolese dioptases and opals. australian…

New: The Treasure

Gold, silver, copper… Sapphires, rubies, emeralds… Topazes, aquamarines, garnets… Noble metals, precious stones and fine stones, raw or cut, await you in the Treasure of the Crystal Museum.

JEWELERY OF THE ITALIAN ALPS 

Until December 2023 Northern Italy has many mineralogical riches.

This exhibition, from a private collection, invites you to discover the jewels of the Italian Alps. Rodingites are the well-represented rocks in the Italian Alps that have provided very high quality parts. Come and discover garnets, diopsides, vesuvianites and other epidote nminerals… These pieces are accompanied by specimens from the great classical sites of the Italian Alps: Traversella scheelite, Brusson gold, Brosso magnetite…

VISIT WITH A CRYSTALLIER !

During school holidays: guided tours on Thursdays at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Come and discover the Crystal Museum in the company of a guide from the Chamonix Mineralogy Club. Explore with him the mineralogical treasures of Mont-Blanc massif and discover the world of crystal researchers.
By reservation / Price: entrance fee to the museum.

Open every day :

Outside school holidays : 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. 
School holidays: 10 a.m. - 12 noon / 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. 
July and August: 10 a.m. - 12 noon / 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Annual closing from Monday 14 November to 4 December 2022 included. 
Closed on 1st January, 1st May and 25 December
