On Saturday 27 January 2024, The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) announced the cancellation of the two day World Cup skiing event .
The Chamonix Kandahar downhill event that was scheduled to take place over two days, on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 February is cancelled.
The slalom event scheduled for Sunday, 4 February on La Verte des Houches will take place.
The FIS did look for an alternative venue to host the two day downhill event, on the same dates as originally planned, but due to time constraints, no solution was found.
This week, temperatures of up to 13 degrees are expected.
