This year, there is no downhill Kandahar event in Chamonix. It was cancelled because of the warm temperatures that could not guarantee the hard surface required for high speed downhill racing.
Preparations for the Chamonix Kandahar 2024
The Slalom event will take place. This will be on Sunday 4 February 2024. The quantity and quality of snow appears to be satisfactory and the track is being prepared.
Two-time winner in Chamonix, Clément Noël is one of the favourites. He is up against the Austrian, Manuel Feller and German, Linus Strasser who hold the top two positions in this year's ranking.
The Brit, Dave Ryder is 5th in the ranking and he can expect a big following in Chamonix.
The men's slalom in Chamonix marks the end of the first half of the season. The second half of the season has 5 more events. Manu Feller has built a 100+ point lead over his nearest rival Linus Strasser. A win in Chamonix will probably secure him the 2024 title.
