Easy access from Chamonix
You can easily reach the Les Marécottes ski resort by train. The Mont-Blanc Express train is a scenic and bucolic experience (1h15). Change at Vallorcine with a stop at Les Marécottes. Les Marécottes is also accessible by car from Chamonix via the Col des Montets and the Col de la Forclaz (1h10min).
Something for everyone
You can choose the experience of riding a scooter downhill (rentals available at the cable car station) for kids and adults alike (from 8 years old, helmet mandatory, loan possible) to enjoy a wonderful experience with family or friends. The route, about 9 km long, follows a forest road through alpine pastures and forests, with an elevation gain of nearly 670 m up to the village of Les Marécottes. Unforgettable.
Set out to conquer the Luisin, a peak at 2785 m accessible via a challenging alpine hiking trail (T4). Or climb the Col de la Golettaz (2472 m) (T3) with a reward at the end: a breathtaking view of the Dents du Midi throughout the descent towards the Salanfe Lake. There is also the very wild Emaney valley (1860 m) or the panoramic Scex des Granges (2080 m). Finally, you can choose a peaceful walk through the forest to the village of Les Marécottes.

Want to savour the moment? The mountain restaurant La Creusaz welcomes you with generous and varied cuisine, to be enjoyed on the terrace or behind large panoramic windows. You can also have a drink on the terrace facing the mountains.

The Marécottes Alpine Zoo
The zoo invites you on a journey to the heart of Alpine wildlife. Located in a larch forest at an altitude of 1,110 meters, this unique zoo, the highest in Europe, presents local species in a preserved setting, where children and adults can observe wolves, ibex, lynx, marmots, and many other iconic Alpine animals up close.
Rock-carved pool
Next to the zoo, dive into the Marécottes natural pool, a jewel of crystal-clear water in the heart of nature. Seventy meters long and carved into the rock, this unique pool combines remarkable architecture and a poetic setting. Thanks to its solar heating, the water is pleasantly warmed between 24 and 27°C in summer, offering an invigorating and unforgettable swim. .
A Bucolic and Panoramic Train
The Mont-Blanc Express is a scenic railway line connecting Switzerland to France, between Martigny and Chamonix. Its stop at Les Marécottes station provides access to the cable car, the zoo, and the Les Marécottes swimming pool.
