The weekend turned into a mixed bag of weather, with lots of clouds, some sunshine, and some fresh powder up high, too. Sunday turned out more sunny than Saturday, with a sea of cloud in the valley that burned off nicely.
We decided to skip the Black Weekend festivities at the Grands Montets, which was pretty awesome, apparently, and we went to the Aiguille du Midi to see if it had snowed much up there during Fridays snowfall. There were 20 or so fresh centimetres of really light but sugary powder. It was nice to ski, but better on the low-angled slopes, as it was a bit icy underneath in places. It snowed about 10 centimetres at around 3000m, so the lower slopes were less good, but still well-skiable.
The weather is going to continue mixed into this week, with some periods of precipitation in between clear spells - possibly some nice powder, but not a huge dump of snow yet. We have to wait a bit longer for the next big Chamonix storm...
