Chamonix: a skier loses consciousness due to a head shock

 

On Thursday 9 March 2023, the Chamonix High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) rescued a 34-year-old skier with a head injury in the Grands Montets area.

According to Le Dauphine, the man having fallen heavily, suffered a head trauma and lost consciousness.

The rescuers took care of the victim in the morning, at 10:20 a.m., and took him with the Dragon 74 civil security helicopter to Sallanches hospital.

At 12:37 p.m., the gendarmerie unit was also sent to the Balme area to help another skier suffering from back and leg trauma. The skier was evacuated to Annecy hospital.

Three other traumatological interventions took place during the day around the Mont-Blanc massif.

Two pedestrians technically blocked near the Brévent area were also rescued by the PGHM.
