On July 22, a mountaineer, 30, was found dead on the Dome du Rochefort, Mont-Blanc massif.

The accident occurred at 04:30 on the border between France and Italy, at around 3900m. The young man was unroped and had fallen 300m into a crevasse. The PGHM were called immediately by the other 2 members of the party, but sadly the men didn't survive.
The victim was of foreign origin. His nationality is not known at this time. An investigation is under way into the possible cause of the tragedy.
