Indeed, in two decisions dated 13th July 2017, the committee members of the French Ice Hockey Federation (FFHG) validated the candidature of the clubs for the 2017-2018 season: the Chamonix Hockey Club in Saxoprint Magnus League - on the condition that the team signs a contract stating the financial targets - and Valenciennes Hockey Club in Division 2.

So, Chamonix will evolve in the Magnus League without the Morzine hockey team. Therefore, the merger of the last year between the two hockey clubs is abandoned.
