In accordance with security measures, the operators of the control and command post closed the entrances to the infrastructure.

The internal security services of the TMB‐GEIE intervened immediately. Workers are on site and rehabilitation activities are underway.

The activation of the Alpine Crossing Plan has been requested

Consequently, all vehicles were invited to follow the alternative routes:

  • Grand-Saint-Bernard tunnel, Fréjus
  • tunnel, Ventimiglia border

Traffic should however be able to resume around 12:00 p.m. at the Mont-Blanc Tunnel.
