A big storm day in Chamonix today!
Finally, after a month with not so much snowfall, we have the next big storm system of the winter giving us a good kicking, since yesterday evening. There was some fresh snow last night, above 1200m, with lots of wind, and today the Chamonix ski areas were closed, due to the wind, except for Les Houches, which is more protected, and was all open, with good skiing, and good visibility on tree-lined pistes.
Now it is also dumping snow in Chamonix town and below 1000m this evening, with more to come for the rest of the week!
