We had some fresh snow in the Chamonix mountains over the weekend, which has softened up the skiing/riding conditions on and off piste. It wasn't a huge snowfall, but it seems like there was 5-7cm on Saturday, and 5-7cm again on Sunday, so 10-15cm fresh snow in the mid mountain zone, with a snowline of 15-1800m. It is quite refreshing after 2 weeks of almost wall-to-wall sunshine!

Pistes were pretty nice at Brévent/Flégère today, and despite the holiday crowds it wasn't mega busy. It was a bit soft here, a bit icy there. Softer pistes were higher up: Index was skiing really well today. There was flat light from the cloudy sky, but visibility was quite good until the middle of the day, when the next wave of snowfall started. This afternoon it is snowing heavily above 1300/1400m.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the weather after this week, but it should be sunny to end the year, after this current weather cycle blasts through.
