There was some fresh snow at the beginning of the week, between 20 and 40 centimetres reported on Sunday night, depending on where you looked, and then a bit of a top-up on Friday the 11th (10-15cm in the mountains). It has been a mostly sunny week, apart from those snow storms, and today was wonderful in the sun at Grands Montets. This time of year the sunshine starts to creep into the GM ski area a bit more than at Christmas time, so there was some good light there, especially after the end of the morning.

The snow is generally still quite hard-packed, with some softer fresh snow remaining on the surface from last week. The temperature was pretty nice up on the mountain today: not too cold, and not too warm. Pistes were in really good condition this morning. The recent fresh snow has done them a lot of good, especially as they are groomed each night.
There is potential for a bigger storm cycle next week, starting Sunday night (again). This is supposed to be a decent snowfall through Monday and into Tuesday. Expect some lifts to be closed if the storm comes in big, and then to re-open after the wind drops and avalanche control takes place.
