It snowed a bit since my last snow report, in the middle of the week: Maybe 10-20cm in the Chamonix mountains, with some snowfall in town too. It wasn't quite enough to make deep powder conditions, so for the moment we are continuing to ski on pretty good hard-packed snow. Pistes are good, though icy in places, as has been the case for quite a while.

This morning it was snowing a bit at Brévent: just a centimetre or two of fresh snow, with some thick cloud. There were some breaks in the cloud, though, and it has been sunnier at the Grands Montets and Le Tour today, especially this afternoon. People are enjoying the skiing up at Brévent, and the holiday season is beginning, with plenty of snow on the mountains. It is certainly very different from last winter, and we are lucky to have the ski lifts running right now. It is definitely a pleasure to ride lifts and ski groomed pistes.
The weather forecast is suggesting a bigger snowfall in Chamonix on Sunday night, perhaps 20 to 40 centimetres in the mountains, which will be great.
