Well, this week is wall-to-wall sunshine in the Chamonix ski areas, with lots of snow staying around since the snowfall last Sunday.

It has been cold in the valley, but up on the Brévent this afternoon the temperature was mild. It was nice to ski in the fresh mountain air, with a light breeze at 2000m. The snow was soft and a bit slushy in the direct sunshine, and a bit icy on shady slopes. It was a great day for cruising around the blue pistes, with steeper pistes being a bit more challenging. There were quite a few happy skiers and snowboarders up there, especially those from Britain, who can come over here again with fewer restrictions!
The stable weather is set to continue for a while longer, probably for most of next week. There is plenty of snow, though, and most terrain is open and skiable.
