The Mont Blanc Museum provides a partial answer, since art isn't its sole purpose, but the ground floor already offers plenty to satisfy certain expectations. While all the paintings obviously depict the Mont Blanc massif and its surroundings, the artistic diversity, both in style and period, is very interesting.

The paintings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are the only visual record of the glaciers' condition at that time. The tongues of ice reached down to the villages.
