The Summer season 2025 in Chamonix Mont Blanc is getting to an end. And with this, some of the ski lifts, mountain trains and cable cars through out the Chamonix valley will stop operating during this month of September. However, some remain open. Check all the dates below!
Chamonix Lift Systems - What's Open this Autumn 2025?
With the end of the summer tourist season, some of the ski lifts in the Chamonix valley will stop operating during this month of September. Here the details you need to know:
Le Tour / Balme / Vallorcine
The entire lift system in the domain of Balme will close on September 14th 2025. It will re-open in 13 December 2025, at the start of the winter ski season 2026.
Les Houches
In Les Houches, the Bellevue cable car is operational until the end Sunday 14 September 2025.
The Prarion gondola closed at the end of Sunday 7 September 2025.
Les Houches ski resort will open for the Winter season, but we are waiting for more info from the Compagnie du Mont Blanc.
Brévent & La Flégère
The Brévent area and its cable car with exceptional views is open.
It is scheduled to close on 14 September 2025.
It will open again on December 13 2025 for the Winter season.
The Domaine de la Flégère is open until 21 September 2025.
The Flégère Gondola re-opens again from the 18th October till the 11th November 2025.
It will open again in November 29 2025 for the Winter season, according with snow conditions.
The Bossons Chairlift
The chairlift at Les Bossons is open until 18:00 on 14 September 2025
The Tramway du Mont Blanc
The Tramway de Mont-Blanc is open until 28 September 2025. The top station at the Nid d'Aigle is closed for renovation until the summer of 2026. Until then, the top station is Mont Lachat.
Aiguille du Midi
The Aiguille du Midi cable car system is open until November 3rd 2025.
From 3 November to 19 December 2025 included it will be closed for work and maintenance.
On December 20th 2025, it will be open again for the Winter season 2026.
The Panoramic Mont Blanc gondolas that traverse the Vallée Blanche to Italy will close on September 21st 2025
The Train to Montenvers
The Train du Montenvers is open until 3 November 2025.
The last departure from Chamonix is at 14:30 and the last descent from Montenvers is at 17:00 Hrs
Then it will close for works from 3 November to 21 Novembre 2025
After this, it will open on the 22 November 2025 for the Winter season
Les Grands Montets
The Grands Montets was closed during the all summer of 2025 for renovation works.
It will open again for the Winter 2026, but we are waiting for more info from the Compagnie du Mont Blanc
