Three serious accidents took place in the Mont-Blanc massif on 12 September 2020. Firstly, a 25-year old climber fell 10 meters (32.8 ft) while he was leading the rope in a climbing route on the Aiguille des Chamois (2,902 m or 9,521 ft altitude), in the Aiguilles Rouges massif, in the town of Vallorcine. The PGHM of Chamonix intervened shortly before 7 am and evacuated the injured climber to the Sallanches Hospital. He suffered from head trauma, and the gendarmes also suspected a thoracic trauma.
