Chamonix Snow & Ski Resorts Report | Chamonix Mountain Conditions - 29 March 2024

Refuge Grands Mulets in Chamonix helicopter on roof pad

The weeks follow one another and are similar: the disturbances pass by, just like the episodes of foehn. Activity in the mountains is almost at a standstill...

The coming Easter weekend promises to be tormented with a powerful regime of foehn. The turbulence of the wind is likely to be strong in the valley and in the mountains, even stormy. Once again, you will have to adapt your activities and outings...!
Activity in the high mountains risks being compromised, see more...

The openings of the sites and lifts risk being disrupted. You can consult the forecasts and openings: HERE

The conditions for hiking remain the same, that is to say that you must stay roughly below 1700 m.

You will find HERE a suggestion for hiking for this weekend. BE CAREFUL, strong winds forecast in the valley this weekend: risk of falling trees on forest routes.

Other information to know:

  • Mer de Glace access: The path between Montenvers and the bottom of the old cable car is closed by order. In the event of closure of the new cable car, access is via the new mountain route which therefore requires mountaineering equipment.
  • The opening of the Grands Mulets refuge has been postponed until April 4 depending on the weather.
