Enjoy it now before it closes: breathtaking views, a step into the void, and an alpine atmosphere at over 3,000 meters. The Summit cafeteria remains open for a gourmet break at altitude.

🚂 The Train du Montenvers & Mer de Glace
Montenvers Train and the Mer de Glace (open during the holidays, then closed from November 3 to 21, 2025)
Enjoy the unique experience of a historic train ride to the famous Mer de Glace. Despite the effects of global warming, the site remains spectacular, surrounded by the legendary Drus, Verte, and Grandes Jorasses. Please note: the Mer de Glace Cave will be closed.

Mountain Hiking
If conditions permit and there isn't too much snow at higher altitudes, you can of course plan hikes in the Chamonix Valley.
Check conditions at the Chamonix Tourist Office or the Chamoniarde at the High Mountain Office.

Open every day during the holidays, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Summer toboggans, slides, trampolines... A paradise for families, rain or snow!

Events not to be missed in the Chamonix Valley!
Chamonix Photo Festival (October 31–November 2, 2025): Over 400 nature, astronomy, and animal photos on display outdoors. Conferences, meetings with photographers, and a brand fair at the Majestic and Kandahar.
Les Petits Asticots Festival (October 18–24, 2025): Shows and workshops for children, from Chamonix to Sallanches.

Some restaurants in Chamonix won't reopen until mid-December, but many others will remain open for the holidays and even the entire fall!
