This Saturday, 14 June 2025, is the open day at the helicopter base, known as the Drop Zone (DZ) of Les Bois.
The doors will open to the general public at 10am and close at 6pm.
The mountain rescue team has many specialist people, including the Peloton Gendamerie Haute Montagne de Chamonix (PGHM), the crews of both the Gendarmerie and Sécurité Civil helicopters, representatives from the Chamoniarde Association, the doctors of the Smur and the dog handlers. They will all be present for the open house day at the DZ.
From the morning, aerial winching demonstrations will be presented. Visitors will be able to chat with the pilots, mechanics and mountain gendarmes on the various stands and admire up close, the helicopters of the PGHM and Sécurité Civil.
For children, a climbing wall will be open to young climbers.
On site, a small refreshment bar and catering will be offered.
