In Chamonix, the ski lifts will reopen one after another throughout June, allowing hikers, mountain bikers, and visitors to return to the peaks during the 2026 summer season.
The ice cave at the foot of Montenvers will not be the only one to reopen on June 6. In Les Houches, the Bellevue cable car will also resume continuous service starting this Saturday.
On June 13, the Planpraz gondola and the Brévent cable car will also resume operation.
The Bossons chairlift will also reopen on that date, offering privileged access to this glacier, whose melting has become one of the most striking symbols of the rapid pace of climate warming.
In Les Houches, the Prarion gondola will operate on the weekends of June 13 and 14, and then June 20 and 21, before opening daily from June 27.
Hikers will be able to expand their hiking options on June 20th with the reopening of the Flégère gondola and the Index chairlift, as well as the Charamillon gondola and the Autannes chairlift in the Balme ski area. However, they will have to wait a little longer in Vallorcine, where the gondola will not reopen until July 4th.
Finally, the Panoramic Mont-Blanc cable car, which connects the Aiguille du Midi to the Pointe Helbronner, will also not open until July 4th.
